PLATINUM JEWELLERY UNION  

Russian Platinum Council and Jewellers' Guild of Russia are pleased to inform you about the start of a campaign for promotion of Russian jewellery platinum on internal and external markets. This is a part of common project, which purpose is to develop Russian market of platinum group metals, in order to revive Russia's economy.

In July 2001 "Platinum Jewellery Union" is created and its function is to unite efforts of all enterprises working on platinum market and striving to achieve the main goal: to increase consumption effectiveness of jewellery platinum.

• To distribute marketing and research information about jewellery platinum.
• To promote jewellery platinum on the level, that is not and cannot be used by separate companies.
• To conduct necessary cooperation between all participants of jewellery platinum market, such as extracting and processing industries, manufacturers and trading networks, financial and legislative structures, public media, specific magazines and Internet.
• To maintain contact and co-operation with Platinum Guild International and with other international jewellery organizations.
• Increasing consumption effectiveness of Russian jewellery platinum.

• General educational and informational work, targeted at platinum jewellery consumption
• Improving the professional skills of craftsmen working with platinum, from producer to seller of platinum jewellery.
• Conducting new annual Russian contest "Best Platinum Item", where the winners are announced during International Moscow exhibition "Jeweller".
• Issue of annual catalogue "RUSSIAN PLATINUM COLLECTION"
• International PR and co-operation with Platinum Guild International and with its branches worldwide.
  Using existing experience of other countries in order to promote jewellery platinum on the market.
• Participation in Russian and international exhibitions.
• Support in the field of investments, finance, credits, and in co-operation with banks for production of platinum collections.

1. Catalogue "RUSSIAN PLATINUM COLLECTION" - 1^st edition,
   in Russian and English, A-4 format, in full colour, 3000 copies, in September 2001.
   
   This catalogue will be distributed amongst trading networks and consumers of jewellery platinum in Russia as will as in other countries. It will be send to organizations, showing strong interest in development of Russian market of jewellery platinum, as well as to head offices of International Jewellers Confederation CIBJO, to Platinum Guild International and to its branches in USA, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, India and China, and will be distributed during Russian and international jewellery exhibitions and conferences.
   
   
2. Issue of promotional material for trade networks and platinum jewellery producers.
   Leaflet, A-4 size, in full colour, 5000 copies, in Russian, coming out in August 2001.
   
   
3. Producing CD ROM "Platinum: Tech Tips",
   in Russian, in September 2001.
   
   This feature will contain professional advice for jewellers on handling platinum.
   
   
4. Creating website of Platinum Jewellery Union.
   September 2001.
   
   
5. Moscow International Jewellery Exhibition "Jeweller-2001".
   September 20th 2001 -"PLATINUM DAY" ".

• Presentation of a catalogue "RUSSIAN PLATINUM COLLECTION".
• Establishing new annual award for best platinum jewellery item. The winners are to be announced in course of annual Moscow International exhibition "Jeweller".

11.30 - 13.30. Seminar: "Discovering Platinum".

• A word of introduction.
• "Discovering Platinum" - marketing program for jewellery platinum products in Russia.
• World tendencies of platinum jewellery industry by "Johnson Matthey".
• How to advertise and to sell platinum- practical tips for wholesalers and retailers (by Platinum Guild International).
• Cocktail.

14.00 - 17.00. Presentation of platinum jewellery collections on the stands of companies participating in "Jeweller-2001" show.

6. Presentation of the 1^st edition of "RUSSIAN PLATINUM COLLECTION" during the course of "Market of Precious Metals and Gemstones-2001" conference, in November 2001 in Moscow.
   
   
7. Series of international seminars on the theme: "PLATINUM JEWELLERY: MANUFACTURING AND TRADE".
   
   First seminar will take place in Moscow, on the 20th of September 2001, during "Jeweller -2001" show, in Sokol'niki, Pavilion 4, 4A, Conference hall, 11.30.

Following companies take active part in programs planned by Platinum Jewellery Union: "Norilsky Nickel", "Johnson Matthey", Platinum Guild International, Russian Platinum Council, "Centre for Development of International Cooperation of Precious Metals Manufacturers and Consumers", Jewellers' Guild of Russia, "Precious Metals and Gemstones" magazine, Russian Jewellery Network and other companies interested in development of platinum jewellery market.
