According to ITAR-TASS, in January-May 2007 the gold mining companies of Amursk region prospected 3 tons 629 kg of gold — by nearly 700 kg more than the same period last year.

The leader of mining — Pokrovskiy Rudnik Company — mined 2992 kg of gold, plus 500 kg as compared with January-May 2006. Experts assume that this year the region can reach a record level of mining — and by 2012 to reach the level of 30 tons of gold annually, — in particularly, due to new plants launching and new deposits exploration.
