In 2007 the gold mining in Irkutsk region has increased by 40% and amounted to 1 ton. These figures were provided by the regional administration. This is a high result for the region – and all the gold was mined at ore deposits – alluvial prospecting starts only in April.

The most part of the gold – 775 kg – was mined by Vysochaishiy Complex.

This year the quota for gold mining in eth region amounts to 16.5 tons; about 40 companies work in the sector.
