By administrative order by ALROSA President Sergey Vybornov from February 12, 2007 Gennady F. Piven was appointed First Vice-President in charge of Production.

Gennady Piven was born in the Donetsk Region, Ukraine, on 17th July, 1955. In 1977 he graduated from the Moscow Mining Institute (specialization ‘Development of Ore Deposits’), in 1997 he completed his postgraduate training at the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold. Mr. Piven has a degree of Candidate of Science (Engineering). Mr. Piven also took a course in Strategic Management in Mining Metallurgy at the London Institute of Directors.

From 1977 to 2000 he worked for RJSC Norilsk Nickel, in 1996-1997 in the capacity of General Manager of Norilskshakhtstroy Mine Construction Trust, and in 1997- 2000 as CEO of OJSC Norilsk Mining Company. Later he continued his career as head of the Technical Development Division of RJSC Norilsk Nickel. In 2001 he was appointed Vice President in charge of Industrial Policy of Evrazholding, mining and metallurgical complex.

In 2002 he took the post of First Deputy Director General of OJSC Investment Group ALROSA. Also from September 2002 to August 2004 he was President of Aldanzoloto Mining Co.

In April 2005 he was appointed President of OJSC Severalmaz.
