Today, as scheduled, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of MMC Norilsk Nickel Mikhail Prokhorov resumed his duties after having returned from his official vacation. The Company confirms the fact that Mikhail Prokhorov was detained by local police while spending his vacation in France, and further states that the incident has no relation to the performance of his duties at the Company.

No charges were officially made against Mr. Prokhorov, his detention being a result of a regrettable misunderstanding, said Sergey Chernitsyn, Head of Public Relations Department.
