The pit at Malyshev emerald deposit will experience a revival, as it has been published by Nakanune.RU with references to the press service of Industry, Energy and Science Ministry of Sverdlovsk region.

The pit has undergone through complex reconstruction. In the nearest future it will be put into operation, emeralds and alexandrites mining will be restarted there. The management of the pit plan to reach the capacity of 200 thou tons of ore a year by summer 2007.

Malyshev deposit had been exploited till 1994. One of the world largest natural emeralds – The President – was found there.
