GOKRAH of Russia this year plans to increase diamonds purchase by $180 mln – by the sum earlier aimed at PGM and gold buying.

According to Strana.ru with references to Interfax, since the beginning of the year GOKHRAN has bought diamonds $150 mln and precious metals $3.6 mln worth. In 2005 GOKHRAN bought diamonds $98 mln worth from ALROSA Company. This year demand in the diamond market exceeds the supply, and GOKHRAN decided to buy gemstones instead of precious metals.
