According to PRIME-TASS, in January – August 2006 Russian increased the volume of gold mining by 0.7% as compared with the results of the same period last year. This information was provided by the Federal Service of the State Statistics.

In August, however, gold mining reduced by 1.4% in comparison with August 2005.

Diamonds mining in January – August 2006 grew up by 2.9%.
