NBLzoloto informs that in January-June 2006 Russian refinery plants obtained 57091.2 kg of gold – 2.9% increase in comparison with the same period 2005 (about 55499.2 kg).

The principal growth of gold mining was provided by such companies as OJSC Polyus Gold, Russgragmet, Vysochaishiy, Omsukchanskaya Complex and OJSC Polymetal.

Alluvial gold prospecting decreased by 15% in comparison with 1H05.

The Union of Gold Manufacturers of Russia forecast that this year gold production in the country will be less by 2 tons than in 2005 and will total to 166 tons.
