The Central Bank of Armenia has established the sketches of a silver memorial coin devoted to the International Polar Year. This silver coin is to be issued in the context of coins emission in 2006-2007.

International Polar Year is taking place in 2007-2008, this event is aimed at coordinating of scientific research in polar regions.
