PRIME-TASS reports that gold mining in Russia in January-May increased by 2.7% as compared with the same period last year. In May 2006 gold mining grew up by 1.5% as compared with May 2005 and by 61.4% as compared with April 2006. Quantity figures are not published in the report.

Diamonds mining in January-May increased by 0.3% in comparison with the same period last year.
