The Central Bank of Russia has issued a series of coins devoted to the Football World Cup 2006 that started in Germany on June 9, 2006.

The bank issued silver and golden coins with the face value of three and fifty roubles respectively. The numbers of coins issued are up to 15 thou pcs (silver coins) and up to 2 thou pcs (golden coins).
