On June 17, 2006, Moscow Numismatic Company Coins and Medals organized an auction Russian coins and medals. The tenders took place in Marriotte Royal Aurora Hotel.

600 lots were presented at the auction: Russian golden and silver coins made in 1700-1958, foreign coins, mainly those made in XVI in Germany, Italy, Austria.

Over 70% of the lots were sold. The top-lots of the auction included a rare silver rouble coined in 1704 – it was sold for $11 000, with its starting price being $7 650.
