RioNor Geological Searching – the joint venture of MMC Norilsk Nickel and Rio Tinto – can start gold searching in Russia.

In 2005 Rio Tinto directed $110 mln into geological searching of new areas, $83 mln – for development and $57 mln – for additional searching. In 2006 the company plans to increase financial support of these goals.
