In 2005 Krasnoyarsk gold mining companies decreased the volume of the precious metals production and produced 30.6 tons of gold.

Nevertheless, the administration of the krai is quite optimistic – in 1995-2002 the volume of gold produced in the region grew up by 6.5 times and in the nearest future it is planned to reach the level of 50 tons of gold annually.

305 gold deposits have been discovered in Krasnoyarsk krai, the key producer of the precious metal is Polyus Company – a branch of MMC Norilsk Nickel.
