President Vladimir Putin banned imports of Ivory Coast rough diamonds through presidential decree. The move follows a similar ban already in place by the Kimberley Process and World Diamond Council, and the United Nations. The measure applies across all state and private institutions and transportation firms conducting business in Russia.
