As it has been reported by the press service of the company, ALROSA’s XII international large-size rough diamond auction organized in conjunction with the Diamond Chamber of Russia that kicked off on 12th January, 2006 is closed.

38 Russian and foreign companies, all of high business reputation and specializing in manufacturing of large sized goods, from Israel, Belgium, India, China, USA, Belarus participated in it as bidders. The lots were available for preview on the premises of the Diamond Chamber of Russia during a month.

133 boxes (composed of 921 diamonds) with an aggregate weight of approximately 15 thousand carats were offered for sale. Those included 9 exceptionally large rough diamonds, each of over 50 carats that had failed to be classified as ‘unique’ by a special expert panel of the RF Finance Ministry. The largest of the diamonds offered for sale weighed 301.55 carats.

The results were announced on 16th February, 2006. 120 boxes were sold for the total of USD 25.5 million.

The results will be posted on the official corporate web-site at www.alrosa.ru. The next auction will open on 20th February, 2000. The results are to be announced on 31st March, 2006..
