Now the gold and currency reserves of Belarus amounted to $1.4 bln. The representatives of the National Bank informed that in 2006 the Bank plans to increase the reserves by $470-520 mln.

Thus, in 2001-2005 Belarus gold reserves increased by 5.7 times up to 25 tons 20 kg. By 2010 the National Bank plans to increase its resources up to $3 bln.

Alongside with gold resources the National Bank of Belarus organised gemstones fund with total weight 53 thou cts – 24.3 mln euros worth.
