According to UralBusinessConsulting, in 2001-2005 precious metals mining in Chelyabinsk region nearly doubled – from 2.253 tons (2001) up to 4.5 tons (2005); silver — from 20 tons up to 38 tons.

It is expected that gold mining in the region this year will amount 5 thou tons, in 2007 — 5 300 thou tons, by 2010 — 6 thou tons.
