Siberia will be sold
In the nearest future Alukom-Invest may sell one of its assets – gold mining artel Siberia that exploits Chayangro deposit in Bodaibo area, the resources of the deposit being estimated at 17 tons.
Now Baikal bank of the Savings Bank of Russia controls 99.9% of the artel – the team owes to the bank the money it borrowed three years ago.
Regional experts mention that there are two companies that want to buy the artel – OJSC Lena Gold, a subsidiary of CJSC Polus, and Taiga gold mining artel.
According to PRIME-TASS, Siberia artel has ten more licenses for gold mining in Bodaibo area. In 2001 it mined 473 kg, in 2002 - 281 kg, in 2003 - 168 kg, in 2004 - 143 kg of gold, in 2005 – 54 kg, with quota being 350 kg.
