X International Diamonds Auction started its work on August 22 and in the course of the month all the participants had an opportunity to watch the lots presented an doffer their prices. The auction was organised by JSC ALROSA and Diamond Chamber of Russia.

38 Russian and foreign companies – from Israel, Belgium, India, Switzerland, China, UAE and Belarus – participated in the auction.

120 boxes (891 gemstones) with total weight about 14.4 thou cts were put up for tenders. The largest stone presented at the auction weighs 118.16 cts.

On September 22 the results of the auction were estimated. All the boxes were sold for $25 mln, the maximum price being over $935 thou for a diamond weighing 62.12 cts.

The next international auction is to starton October 17, 2005.
