Russia has decreased gold mining
Kommersant-Dengi publishes the data of the Union of Gold Manufacturers about gold mining in Russia. In January-July 2005 Russian gold mining production decreased by 5.5% (or by 4775.6 kg) as compared to the same period last year – down to 82403.4 kg.
The production in Russian leading gold mining regions – Krasnoyarsk krai, Magadan region, Khabarovsk krai and Yakutia – reduced and that influenced the total result in the country. Ore gold mining decreased by 7.2% (or by 5349.5 kg) – down to 68932.8 kg.
However, in spring the Union forecasted that in 2005 the total gold production in Russia would amount to 183 tons (in 2004 – 180.5 tons).
