The first four months 2005 of diamonds mining inYakutia showed that diamonds production is stably developing in the Republic. According to YASIA, during this period the plants of yakutia cut diamonds $107.2 mln worth or 96% of the plan. It is by 16 % more than the same period last year. It is expected that in June – May 2005 diamonds $131.1 mln worth will be cut in Yakutia.

As for jewellery, Yakut companies production amounted to RUR 227.2 mln with plan being RUR 209.7 mln – 22% increase as compared to the same period last year.
