From April 17 to 22 a group of Kimberley process experts visited Russia. The delegation consisted of the representatives of the USA, Botswana, Israel, European Commission and the non-governmental organisation Africa-Canada.

As it has been reported by Diamond Chamber of Russia, the purpose of the visit was the control over the rules of diamond turnover established in the country.

the delegation visited the special customs post where gemstones re imported and exported and two companies: Almazny Mir and Brillianty ALROSA.

At the end of the visit there was a meeting held with the heads of ministries and organisations involve din the sphere. The participants of the meeting held a discussion on the gemstones turnover in Russia.

earlier the group of Kimberley process experts visited European Union, Liberia, India, Israel. This year it is planned to visit Guinea, the USA, Lebanon, Brazil, Angola, Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus.
