The secretariat of Kimberley process has declared the official results of the chairman of this international organization, the president of Sakha (Yakutia), Vyacheslav Shtyrov to USA

The aim of this business trip was to increase the effectiveness of Kimberley process interaction with the UN, and establishment of closer contacts with the governmental structures, the representatives of the diamond industry, and the private companies.

As Russian Jewellery Network got to know from the YSIA, a special emphasis was put on the general visits and control missions of the Kimberley process, the results of which are used by the UN and international financial organizations to monitor the situations worldwide. This also includes the sites of peacemaking operations. The proposal of Mr. Shtyrov to use the administrative and technical support from UN was considered with understanding.

The chairman of Kimberley process has also reported at the UN Security Council meeting on the sanctions towards Liberia based on the information from the expert group visiting this country.

During the meetings in the World Bank they touched upon the issues of collaboration to support the process participant countries as well as regarded the analytical and information issues.

The secretariat of Kimberley process will prepare certain proposals from the meetings of the Yakut President for the intersession meeting of the organization, where the representatives of the UN and IFF will be Participating.
