Jewellers Guild of Russia Association, in connection with the current situation in Russian jewellery market, addresses jewellers and exhibitions organisers. Market development in Russia, legislation liberalisation in the field of precious metal sand gemstones have resulted in jewellery market participants number increasing. Besides, many illegal jewellery exists in the country as well.

Under these conditions Russian jewellery companies need special promotion and marketing strategy, a very important means of which are jewellery shows.

However, now Russian jewellery exhibitions have a number of shortcomings that are to be corrected:

- dates and venues are set by organisers, sometimes without taking into consideration jewellers’ and retailers’ interests;

- exhibition organisers are involved in dishonest competition that has led to the show duplicating: the same names, the same cities, the same dates. Exhibition participants feel uncomfortable under such conditions;

- lack of information etc.

In this connection the Association express is hope that exhibitions organizers will make steps towards the situation improvement in order to satisfy the interests of jewellers, retailers and all the companies concerned.
