According to YASIA, Yakut jewellery sector ha snow several large representatives such as OJSC Zoloto Yakutii, Sakhayuvelir, Aldanzoloto and three enterprises of Yakutia Committee of Precious Metals.

Last year jewellery companies of the Republic produced jewellery 580 mln roubles worth with 4% increase as compared to 2003 the same period figures. Up to 80% of the production include jewellery with natural gemstones and diamonds.

In 2004 Yakut jewellery companies participated in many shows and as a result 27 jewellery stores were opened in Russia, one in Mongolia and this year an office of Yakutia Committee of Precious Metals is planned to open in China.

Experts say that in 2005 jewellery production in Yakutia will increase by 10% and will amount to 638 mln roubles.
