On February 1 the president of Yakutia Vyacheslav Shtyrov held a press conference fro the press media of the Republic. The president estimated 2004 as a successful year. Industrial production grew by 12.8%. Diamond and gold mining companies achieved significant results. Diamonds cutting companies increased their production be nearly 25%.

2005 will be a positive year fro Yakutia as well. However, the president of the Republic says that Yakut diamonds mining volume will be reduced due to the market requirements.
