According to the Union of Gold Manufacturers of Russia, in 2004 Russia’s gold production increased by 2% as compared to 2003 and amounted to 180 tons 514.7 kg. In particular, gold mining volume increased by 0.5% — 158 tons 829.9 kg, while secondary production grew up to 11 tons 278.2 kg (+65%), incidental production amounted to 10 tons 406.6 kg (-13.4%).

The Union has forecast that in 2004 gold production volume would remain the same as in 2003. The increase is connected with growth of Polimetall Company results at Dukat, Lunnoe and Khakadjinskoe deposits.

RBC reports that Krasnoyarsk krai lat year was a leader in gold mining and production, its companies got 30 tons 347.6 kg of gold that is by 15 more than in 2003.
