On January 31 JSC ALROSA together with Tokyo Diamond Bourse held a diamond auction in the context of IJT 2005 – International Jewellery Tokyo.

The press service of the company reported that 53 diamonds totally weighing 155.16 ct with starting price $1.5 mln were put up for tenders. All the gemstones were GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) certified.

20 Japanese diamond companies participated in the auction. 11 diamonds with total weight 49.36 ct (the largest being 18.93 ct) were sold for about $410 thou.
