De Beers will remain ALROSA key partner
The president of ALROSA Alexander Nichiporuk commented on the situation with De Beers and their agreement at the press conference in Mirny. He announced that the European Antimonopoly Commission has nearly made its decision. This information was provided by ITAR-TASS with references to Yakutia Newspaper.
Both companies have given their propositions fro the nearest six years, according to which the volume of raw diamonds sold to De Beers from ALROSA will gradually decreased – at average by $75 mln annually.
At the same time Mr Nichiporuk emphasised that De Beers will remain ALROSA key partner.
According to the data published, in 2005 ALROSA plans to mine diamonds $2.1 bln worth and to cut gemstones $142.6 mln worth.
