By 2008 Irkutsk region plans to increase gold mining by 150% up to 23 tons without the Sukhoi Log taking into consideration. Experts say that the planned volume is possible to be achieved if ore gold mining process is optimized and improved (last year about 1.5 tons of ore gold were mined in the region).

Thus, for example, Sukhoi Log mining company (structurally is included into Polus Company)intends in 2005 to increase gold mining volume at Zapadnoe deposit up to 1.5 tons of ore gold (in 2004 - 347 kg)

Moreover, MMC Norilsk Nikcel is going to buy Pervenetc Plant, some sources in the local administration informs.

As it has been reported, last year Irkutsk gold mining companies got 15555 kg of gold (6.4% less than in 2003). Quota for 2005 amounts to 17880 kg that is by 11.3% more than lat year results.
