Buryat gold mining companies have organised a meeting devoted to the future development of the regional sector. During the meeting it was reported that in 2004 8 tons of gold will be mined in the region that is be several tens kg less than last year results. The decrease happens due to fall in Zun-Kholba deposit mining. However, there are new deposits in the region that are explored and should be exploited in the nearest future.

As it has been published by IA REGNUM, the president of Buryatia who attended the meeting said that by 2010 gold mining in the region should have increased up to 20 tons.
