According to REGIONS.RU, in January – October 2004 Irkutsk gold mining companies reduced their production by 9.5% down to 14 tons 747 kg as compared to the same period last year.

The main reasons for such a decrease are unfavourable weather situation and deposits exhausted conditions. In 2004 Lena Gold enterprises mined 8 tons 53 kg of gold.

In 2003 Irkutsk region mining companies mined 16 tons 517.5 kg of gold that is by 2.8% more than in 2002.
