On November 3 the VII Precious Metals and Gemstones Market International Business Conference started its work and the first meeting was held. Among the meeting participants there were the head of CJSC Polus Board V. Rudakov, the head of Lanta-Bank Board S. Dokuchaev, the first deputy head of Assay Office B. Borisov, the chairman of Gold Miners Union of Russia V. Tarakanovskiy, MIREA head A. Sigov and others.

At the meeting it was mentioned that Russian precious metals and gemstones market has developed. Mr Rudakov in his report said that the annual growth of Russian jewellery market amounts to 12-15%. In this connection it needs being integrated into the international market. At the same time Russian jewellery industry is not satisfied with the country’s legislation, geological searching support etc.

Among the questions discussed at the meeting there were the problems of Russia’s entry to WTO, the problems of Russian jewellery market and Russia’s participation in Kimberley process.
