On October 26 Moscow Chamber of Industry and Commerce welcomed the participants of the meeting devoted to the customs problems of Russian precious metals and gemstones business in the world’s market. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Russian State Assay Office, Federal Customs, GOKHRAN, the Ministry of Finance, Jewellers Guild of Russia, Russian Jewellery Network, International Business Centre 6 Carats, Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals Plant, ALROSA, Kristall Company, Krasnoselsk Jewellery Plant.

The agenda of the meeting included the most important problems Russian companies face when exporting their jewellery, precious metals or gemstones. For example, the meeting participants paid attention to the question of metals equivalent and VAT several times. Another issue discussed at the meeting was the problem of foreign representations. This way of the problems solving is good enough for companies with constant export relations but it is negative for Russian industry itself.

As a result, the meeting participants offered to make a list of the most important issues in the field in order to start their proper discussion at the higher level.
