The press service of Federation Council informs that on October 25, 2004, the Committee of Federation Council organised meeting devoted to the questions of natural resources and environmental protection. The meeting is connected with the new law “On Natural Resources”.

The agenda of the meeting included the discussion of such questions as ownership of deposits, the rights of deposits exploitation, tax questions and many other important issues. One of the key question discussed was the changes in Russia’ legislation system. Now the law “On Natural Resources” fails to assist in mining industry development.
