The press service of Federation Council announces that on October 25, 2004, at 2 p.m. the Committee of Federation Council will start a meeting devoted to the questions of natural resources and environmental protection. The meeting is connected with the new law “On Natural Resources”.

The agenda of the meeting includes the discussion of such questions as ownership of deposits, the rights of deposits exploitation, tax questions and many other important issues.

Among the discussion participants there are the members of Federation Councils, the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, federal agencies, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Moscow Geological University, Gold Producers Union of Russia and others.
