The press service of the police of Russia reports that since the beginning of 2004 1473 crimes in the sphere of illegal gemstones and precious metals turnover were revealed; 218 kg of jewellery, 160 thou ct of gemstones, 30 kg of gold and 65 kg of silver have been confiscated.
