Korrespondent.net publishes that the State Customs Office of Ukraine has established a 2-5% tax on bank metals import, earlier it being 0.2%.

Experts comment the situation and expressed the opinion that such a tax is not quite right from legislative point of view. This novelty is likely to destroy jewellery and precious metals market as Ukrainian jewellery will become extremely expensive and won’t be able to compete with Turkish and Russian production. The new measure will certainly decrease precious metals import to the country.
