As it has been informed by RIA Novosti, Australian BHP Billiton has got interested in considerable means investing into Russian natural resources mining. Such an announcement was made by CEO BHP Billiton Charles Goodyear during the meeting with Russian Minister of Industry Victor Khrustenko.

At the meeting the parties discussed the aspects of the company’s participation in Russian projects including those connected with diamonds mining. Mr Khristenko mentioned several legislative points that should be taken into consideration in the case of a foreign company cooperating with Russian mining enterprises. The Minister paid great attention as well to the importance of the cooperation with BHP Billiton and expressed an opinion that such partnership improves the situation in the mining sector.
