As it has been reported by Kolyma.ru, the main purpose of Nugget 2004 operation taking place in Magadan region is to stop and prevent crimes in the field of gold mining.

In 2004 the police of the region have revealed 103 crimes, over31 kg of industrial gold have been confiscated, 60 people arrested.
