As it has been published by Dvina-Inform, on August 19 Tim Martin, the chairman of Kimberley process, visited Archangel Lomonosov diamond deposit owned by Severalmaz Company.

Now the deposit is being prepared for exploitation. In 2005 the first diamonds are expected. It will allow Russia to increase its share in the world’s diamond market.

Lomonosov deposit is the only diamond deposit in the world that will be exploited after Kimberley process system introduction. Thus, all the requirements of this international organization are being taken into consideration from the very beginning, even during the mine construction.
