According to ITAR-TASS, this year 26 companies got quotas for gold mining in Sverdlovsk region. This figure remains the same during several recent years. In 2003 Ural gold mining companies financing increased by 170% as compared to 2002 and amounted to 168.3 mln roubles, while 722.4 mln roubles have been invested in gold mining sector in 1999 – 2003.

Since 1999 gold mining volume has increased by 207%, in 2003 total volume of gold mining amounted to 2.4 bln roubles. This year it is planned to enlarge gold mining volume by 15-20%.
