REGIONS.RU reports that Natalka gold deposit exploited by Matrosov’s Pit Company is expected in the nearest future to become one of the world’s largest deposits. Thus Kolyma, having Natalka and Dukat deposits as diamonds resources is strengthening its position in the world’s diamonds mining.

Since 1945 over 88 tons of gold have been mined at Natalka deposit. In 2002 965 kg of gold were mined, in 2003 – 740 kg. The resources of the deposit are estimated at 246 tons but they can be increased considerably, experts say. It corresponds to the plans of the pit’s new owner, Polus Gold Mining Company, MMC Norilsk Nickel subsidiary.
