On June 23, Highland Gold Mining Ltd officially launched new gold mining complex at Darasun pit in Chita region. The plan of the complex provides the production of 40 thou oz of gold a year. When the complex reaches its full capacity it will produce 120 thou oz annually, it is expected to happen in 2005. As a result, the total gold mining volume of Highland Gold will grow by 60% and will amount to 320 thou oz.

Highland Gold Mining Ltd. (HGM) was founded in May 2002. It owns the companies that have the licences for Mnogovershinnoe deposit (Khabarovsk krai), Darasun, Teremki, Talatuy and Novoshirokinskoe deposits in Chita region.
