As it has been informed by FK-Novosti, the department of smuggling fight has estimated the results of its activity in the first six months in 2004.

In January – June 2004 25.8 kg of precious metals and 122 ct of gemstones, 73 kg of semiprecious stones and over 255 of raw amber were confiscated from illegal transporters. For example, as a result of special operation named Diamond about 5.5 thou jewellery items weighing over 35 kg and over 1 kg of gold dust $2mln worth were seized from illegal turnover.
