The joint meeting of the State Duma Committee on precious metals and gemstones and the government of Yakutia has recommended the State Duma to preserve the rights of Russia’s subjects in the questions of legal regulation and control while approving the amendments to the law “On Precious Metals and Gemstones”. This information has been provided by ITAR-TASS.

The meeting was devoted to the problems of Russian diamonds complex including legal, ecological, technical and scientific questions. Its participants proposed to preserve as well the principle of reserve precious metals and gemstones deposits forming and the right of Russia’s subjects to influence this concordance.

According to the meeting’s participants the new law is urgently needed. Perhaps, it would be useful to exclude the questions of licensing form the discussion list in order to speed up the law approval.
