According to ITAR-TASS, Moscow police have arrested a criminal group that illegally assayed golden jewellery. There were ten jewellery shops involved in the activity and several officials of the Central Assay Office.

The scheme of jewellery assaying was quite simple: illegal jewellery was transported to the Assay Office from jewellery shops and there it was assayed with legal marks. Every mark was paid – it cost 25 roubles.

10 kg of golden jewellery were found in the Assay Office and confiscated from the officials involved in the scheme. In addition, these officials announce that their heads were aware of the activity.
