Prime-TASS reports that CJSC Polus that consolidates MMC Norilsk Nickel’s gold assets intends to increase gold mining at Zapadnoe deposit situated in Irkutsk region up to 2.5 tons in 2005. It is by 200% more than in 2004. This year the company plans to mine 1.3 tons of gold at the deposit.

Zapadnoe deposit is situated near the famous Sukhoi Log deposit, moreover, these two areas have similar structures.
